We are extremely proud to be the first specialist college for the performing arts in Salford and are deeply indebted to all of our numerous sponsors. Each and every one of them has helped us to raise the £56,340 we needed in order for our bid to succeed. This was done in a mere 11 months.
EMI Music Sound Foundation and The Trustees of The Swinton High School
We will be forever grateful to Janie Orr and David Hughes from The EMI Music Sound Foundation, the charitable arm of the EMI Corporation. The EMI Music Sound Foundation is the largest sponsor of performing arts colleges in the country. To date they have made donations in excess of £2 million to schools and individuals, primarily to support music in Education. Decades from now children attending The Swinton High School will benefit from the invaluable gift of £25,000 that we received.
Equally so, The Trustees of The Swinton High School, who also raised and donated £25,000 towards our bid. Without the support of the trustees, the task of raising the money we needed would have been made a great deal more difficult.

Many thanks also go to numerous local businesses and organisations who all helped us to reach our target.
Lastly, a big thank you to the Governors, Parents, Pupils and Staff of The Swinton High School for the contributions that they all have made towards our bid to raise money. We are extremely grateful to the PTFA for their many contributions from the many events that they organised to raise money. Also to Jenny Mason and the PTFA for organising our very successful charity night, which alone raised nearly £2000. Other events included such things as a support staff sponsored walk, proceeds from gigs and concerts, a school auction, card-making club and non-uniform days to name but a few. This is on top of the many parents who donated a significant amount of money to help us on our way.
