Introduction to the Arts College

arts college logoThe Swinton High School became a Specialist School for the Performing Arts in 2004. The Specialist School programme is a Government Initiative that encourages secondary schools in England to specialise in certain areas of the curriculum to boost achievement. At the Swinton High School we are proud of our Specialist status and provide an extensive programme of arts education through music, dance, drama and music technology, covering both curricular and extra-curricular activities for the benefit of our pupils and partner schools.

The Performing Arts Faculty has 7 members of staff and has a 220-seater theatre, 2 drama studios, 2 music rooms, a recording studio and a newly built dance studio, providing our pupils with the facilities and the knowledge to excel in whatever discipline they choose to take part in.
