Basic Rules and Equipment Guidelines

It would be useful if you could reiterate a few of the basic rules and equipment needs to your children, in previous years we have found that a few of our pupils are unprepared for the examination they are about to take:-

  • Punctuality is very important, not only does arriving late get your child off to a bad start it also disrupts the other children that have already started the exam.
  • Once in the examination room, your child must not speak to or communicate with any other pupil and must face the front at all times.
  • Mobile phones, MP3 players, ipod’s or any other such electrical equipment are not permitted in an examination room, not even if they are switched off. It would be better if your child did not bring them in to school, but provision is made at the school office to leave equipment there until the examination has finished.
  • Pens, pencils, erasers and rulers are essential for every examination; if a calculator is required your child will be told in advance. If your child does not have access to a calculator, then one will be provided in the examination room.

Finally it is very important that the school office has an up to date telephone number where you may be contacted in case of an emergency either during an exam or at any other time.

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Maher, Examinations Officer.
