Note: to take this course you have to specialise in one performing art: music, acting or dancing, not do all three!
Introduction
- This is an ideal course for pupils who want to go into the performing arts industry.
- You can study acting, singing, dancing, stage management, music, music technology, etc.
- You will become excellent at one area of study and develop a range of skills.
- Each pupil will have to perform in a whole group performance in front of an examiner and an audience. You will have to take a solo piece in the performance.
Overall, this course is worth a GCSE and is really suited for the 'performers' in school. Pupils will work as an individual, a small group and in a whole class group. The performances will be in public – for an audience.
If you fancy singing or acting or stage management or becoming a technician, then this is the course for you.
Music, Dance and Drama
It requires much more commitment, work and energy than the regular GCSE in music, dance or drama, as you will be studying all three, plus more!
The course is ideal for those pupils who will be considering a career within the performing arts industries or who will be going on to study them further.
