BTEC Performing Arts is a compulsory option that is taken in Year 9. Passing this course is the equivalent of gaining two grade C GCSEs, whilst passing it with distinction is the equivalent of two grade As.
Students can choose from the following four pathways:
Drama (including acting)
Music (including music technology)
Dance (including modern, contemporary and jazz)
Production (including stage/set design and mask making)
No examination is required. You simply complete a portfolio which includes film, photographs and recordings of your work.
