Drama

dramaThe course is split into three sections. It is 60% coursework and 40% practical examination.

Unit 1 Paper 1 (30%) is a teacher assessed 6hr practical workshop based on a theme, supported by a portfolio of documentary evidence, no more than 6 sides of A3. Students are assessed on Response, Development and Evaluation.

Unit 1 Paper 2 (30%) is a teacher assessed 6hr practical workshop, which explores a specific play. This is again supported by a portfolio of documentary evidence, assessed only on response and development. A theatre trip takes place, which is then reviewed and evaluated and submitted with your coursework.

Unit 2 (40%) is externally assessed and is marked purely on your performance skills. A practical examination of either a devised or scripted performance, or performance support such as lighting, set design, costume design or make-up.
